GOT7's Jinyoung Drives '100 Days of Lies' to Record Ratings as His Acting Career Keeps Growing
Episode 6 of tvN's '100 Days of Lies' hit 10.4% peak viewership. Park Jinyoung's multilingual interpreter role anchored the drama's climb to a series high.

Series-high numbers, episode 6
Park Jinyoung's tvN Saturday-Sunday drama 100 Days of Lies just posted its strongest numbers yet. Episode 6 aired on the 25th with an average viewership of 9.5% and a peak of 10.4% on Nielsen Korea's national paid platform household basis. A new series high.
The episode turned on Gakyung collapsing in tears in Hideo's arms after witnessing Geum Seok-jung's (Kam Woo-sung) death. Their bond deepens. Jinyoung plays Sato Hideo, an elite interpreter for the Japanese colonial government who is secretly a Joseon man named Kim Tae-woong. The role demands fluency in Japanese, English, and Korean. At the drama's press conference, he said: "There was no answer but practice."
From idol to leading man
Jinyoung (GOT7) started acting in 2012 with KBS 2TV's Dream High 2, the same year he debuted in music with JJ Project. He joined GOT7 in 2014. His drama credits since then: Psychometry That Man, The Devil Judge, Yumi's Cells, The Witch, and Unknown Seoul.
In 2021 he played Yu Babi in Yumi's Cells, a role that carried into a full romance arc with Kim Go-eun in season 2 the following year. Yumi's Cells 2 ranked first in paid subscription contributors among all Tving original dramas in its first week—roughly four times the figure season 1 posted at launch.
Last year's tvN drama Unknown Seoul paired him with Park Bo-young. He played lawyer Lee Ho-su at a large firm. The show opened at 3.6% in episode 1 and closed at a series-high 8.4% in its finale. (Slow-burn ratings climbs are becoming a Jinyoung pattern.)
The actor angle
His work in 100 Days of Lies has drawn attention because his standing as an actor now feels almost separate from his identity as a GOT7 member. That shift has been building across more than a decade of film and television work.
