A year away, then a song about mothers

Hong Ja (real name Park Ji-min, 40) released Eomni Ul Eomni on the 21st across online music platforms. Her first new music in approximately a year. She co-wrote the lyrics and framed the song as an expression of longing and gratitude toward all the mothers in the world.

The track is already hitting regional stages. Hong Ja has performed Eomni Ul Eomni at concerts and local events in Ulsan, Gyeongsan, and Miryang. She posted photos from one performance to Instagram on the 18th.

From Miss Trot to musicals and back

Hong Ja debuted with her first regular album 왜 말을 못해 / 울보야, releasing music under her real name Park Ji-min before adopting her stage name. She placed third on the 2019 competition program Naeil-eun Miss Trot, which widened her audience considerably.

Since then her albums include Come Back Hong Ja, 내:딛다, 술잔, 화양연화, and track by YOON: 꽃놀이 가요. The title track 어떻게 살아 from 내:딛다 featured film director Lee Jae-han in its music video. She released 빠라삐리뽀 and 내가 사랑한 것들은 in 2024, then 내 딸아 in 2025.

Recorded music isn't her only lane. She sang the main title track 되돌려 줄 거야 for the KBS 2TV drama Miss Monte Cristo. She played Songhwa in the musical Seopeonje, handling both acting and vocals. In 2025 she joined the trot musical Trot Train and competed again on MBN's Hyeonyeok Gawang 3.

Six years as a blood donation ambassador

Hong Ja served as a blood donation promotion ambassador from 2020 through 2026. Her fan club, Hongjasidae, volunteered alongside her—donating blood certificates, working at free meal services, and attaching wild bird collision-prevention tape. (The fan club name translates roughly to "the era of Hong Ja," which tracks given the six-year run.)

She was born in Ulsan, South Gyeongsang Province, and her bon-gwan is the Miryang Park clan. That recent Miryang stage appearance hit different.
