Im Ji-sung & Jung Ji-woong drop duet single 'Geojitmal' on Oct. 27

Two voices, one breakup song

Im Ji-sung and Jung Ji-woong released their duet single Geojitmal ("Lie") on October 27 across online music platforms.

The track is an R&B pop ballad about a man sensing a breakup through his lover's cold gaze, tracing the emptiness that sets in as a relationship ends. What makes it work is the contrast between them: Im Ji-sung's deep, husky tone against Jung Ji-woong's falsetto.

Built on a year of shared stages

Both artists came up through SBS Uri-deul-ui Ballad Season 1. Im Ji-sung finished TOP7. Jung Ji-woong finished TOP11. On the show, Im Ji-sung covered "Wae Geurae" and Jung Ji-woong covered "Annie," each drawing attention with their individual interpretations.

The pairing didn't stop there. They appeared together on the Uri-deul-ui Ballad spinoff program Mumu X Chacha - Uballa Radio, where they performed a duet cover of Sechs Kies' "Couple." At the Uri-deul-ui Ballad national tour concert, they each took solo stages. Im Ji-sung performed "Wae Geurae." Jung Ji-woong performed "Annie." They shared a joint stage for "Sesang-e Ppuryeojin Sarangmankeum," among others.

SM C&C said: "Expect deeper harmony and new musical synergy from Im Ji-sung and Jung Ji-woong in Geojitmal."
