Kim Tae-ri's on-set lesson goes viral via Kim Ji-yeon on 'Jeon Hyun-moo's Plan 4'
On episode 18 of MBN's 'Jeon Hyun-moo's Plan 4,' actress Kim Ji-yeon revealed that her dedication on the 'Dive to You' set traces back to a tip from Kim Tae-ri.
Kim Tae-ri's advice, passed down a generation
Episode 18 of MBN and Channel S's variety program Jeon Hyun-moo's Plan 4 aired on the 30th. The episode centered on northern Gyeonggi food. But the moment everyone's talking about came from the cast couch, not the kitchen.
Actress Kim Ji-yeon, formerly BONA of girl group WJSN, appeared alongside her Dive to You co-star Park Seo-ham (193 cm). Park spoke about Ji-yeon's work ethic on set: "Ji-yeon is my spiritual pillar. Consideration is ingrained in her body." He explained that she acts opposite him even in cuts where her character doesn't appear, crying at full intensity to keep his emotions calibrated.
Ji-yeon traced the habit back to someone else. "I learned this from senior Kim Tae-ri," she said. "She told me that everyone needs to exchange emotions well for the work to turn out well."
55-year-old stew and a 1992 squid joint
The northern Gyeonggi food tour took them to a janchiguksu (festival noodle soup) restaurant in Ilsan that moves roughly 300–500 bowls a day. Yoon Do-hyun, a Paju native, steered them next to a budae-jjigae (army stew) spot with a 55-year tradition.
Host Jeon Hyun-moo was visibly moved. "It smells like the budae-jjigae I ate at a driver's restaurant when I was young," he said. "This taste is truly rare. If the owner doesn't make it, this taste will be lost." Then: "I'm about to cry. This is how you time travel."
Jeon and Kwak Tube then visited a hanchihoe (Korean squid sashimi) restaurant near Geumchon Station in Paju. The place has run hanchihoe as its main menu since 1992, with a 35-year veteran squid specialist in the kitchen. Jeon called the alttang (roe soup) "number 1 among roe soup restaurants."
Two years, seven months in — and Haenam is next
The show marked 2 years and 7 months on air during the episode. Jeon floated his next destination wish: Haenam, specifically for its cabbage. The following episode will shift to Incheon for a special on the flavors of new cities and old downtown areas.
