Lovelyz's Kei returns with remake of RUDA's 2003 ballad '투비', first solo release in 1 year 10 months

Kei brings back a 2000s ballad classic

Kei, singer and musical actor from girl group Lovelyz, released her remake of 투비 (鬪悲) on October 28. The original came out in 2003 from singer RUDA and defined the 2000s ballad renaissance. It's a song about breakup pain, regret, and the will to push through sadness.

This is her first solo track in 1 year and 10 months. Winter Garden dropped in December 2024.

The 투비 remake isn't her only recent move. In May, she featured on 내가 어떻게 널 잊어 by Davinci (다빈크), the producer known for his work with Lovelyz. That kept her name in circulation between solo releases.

Her solo work started in 2019 with the mini album Over and Over (오버 앤 오버). She's since racked up OST credits across dramas 황후의 품격, 절대그이, and 런온. She also contributed to the musical 태양의 노래 with the track 그런 날이 오게 될까?

On the variety side, she joined SBS Biz's 맛슐랭 가이드 as replacement host, co-hosting alongside comedian Ji Sang-ryeol (지상렬).

What's next

Kei plans to perform 투비 on music broadcast stages. A second new song is also scheduled for November. Two solo releases in two months after a nearly two-year gap.
