Moon Geun-young Married Actor Jung Pyeong in July, Now Back on Screen with 'Our Ballad 2'
Moon Geun-young married theater actor Jung Pyeong in July 2026. Now she's back on air with 'Our Ballad 2', months after stepping away from her career due to acute compartment syndrome.

Married in July, back on air in October
Moon Geun-young married theater actor Jung Pyeong in July 2026. She announced it herself on SNS: "I met someone I want to walk with on a path I always walked alone, someone I want to share the times I worried alone with."
The ceremony stayed quiet. At the Our Ballad 2 production presentation, she reflected on what came after: "We held the ceremony quietly, but so many people congratulated and supported us, and I felt that I am loved by many people."
On October 26, she posted again on SNS to promote Our Ballad 2: "Finally starting round 2 'Our Ballad 2' watching the broadcast today" alongside several photos.
The illness she came back from
Before the marriage and comeback, Moon Geun-young had stepped away entirely after being diagnosed with acute compartment syndrome, a rare disease. She discussed it on tvN's You Quiz on the Block in April 2026.
"After surgery, I removed the bandage and saw the wound for the first time. I thought it was serious, but I was relieved that necrosis wasn't progressing. I think I cried when I heard that my finger nerves might not recover."
The physical demands of her return weighed on her too. "I enjoyed eating a lot during rehabilitation, so I gained weight and dieting is a concern. I'm doing my diet hard and performances require a lot of physical exertion so I'm exercising instead." Recovery, a wedding, and a new show in one year.
