PLAVE drops fifth mini album 'HYPERDRIVE' six months after 'Caligo Pt.2'
PLAVE drops 'HYPERDRIVE' on October 12 with five tracks led by 'Star Trace,' their first EDM title track.
PLAVE released their fifth mini album HYPERDRIVE on October 12, six months after Caligo Pt.2 dropped in April. The physical edition follows on October 13.
Five tracks, five directions
The album opens with five songs. Star Trace is EDM-based dance pop and serves as the title track. 꾼 leans into soft bossa nova. 푸른 하늘에 단비 builds on acoustic guitar and plain vocals over a rock foundation. The Answer Is Yes goes bright and upbeat. Rewind wraps things up with R&B pop and a refreshing, romantic melody.
This marks PLAVE's first EDM-genre title track. The group had already previewed Star Trace at their world tour shows before today's full release, and the music video drops alongside the audio.
'Rewind' breaks the self-production streak
Rewind marks the first time PLAVE has collaborated with outside composers. Composer Kenji and composition team KZLAB both contributed to the track. Every other song on the album was produced in-house.
The music video teaser frames the album around a racing concept, splitting the five members into two teams: Bambi and Eunho as "Yataz," and Hamin, Yejun, and Noah as "Mad Baze."
World tour continues through November
PLAVE is mid-run on their first world tour, KEEP IT MANIC. Upcoming dates include October 17 in Singapore. October 23–24 brings Taipei. Macau follows October 31 – November 1. Los Angeles is set for November 14.
The title track had already been road-tested at earlier tour stops before today's official release.
