Baby DONT CRY's Ihyeon and Benny Are Now the Face of VDL

P1HARMONY's label Pnation confirmed on February 15 that Baby DONT CRY members Ihyeon and Benny have been named brand ambassadors for Korean makeup brand VDL — and the collab is already shaping up to be one of the more interesting idol-beauty pairings of the year.

The campaign centers on two specific products: VDL's existing bestseller, the Cover Stain Perfecting Foundation and Cushion, paired with a new launch, the Cheek Stain Cream Blusher. The editorial concept VDL is running with is what they're calling a "peach makeup" look — smooth, even skin with a soft, warm flush. If you've seen Ihyeon and Benny's general aesthetic, the fit makes sense: the duo leans into a clean, slightly dewy finish rather than anything heavy or editorial-dark.

What makes this worth paying attention to beyond the usual ambassador announcement: the VDL x Baby DONT CRY set is confirmed to drop as an OliveYoung exclusive kit. So if you're planning a Seoul run or already have an OliveYoung haul in progress, this is one to flag. The Cover Stain Cushion already has a solid reputation as a base product, and the Cheek Stain Cream Blusher is new — meaning this kit is essentially the fastest way to try the blush before it gets its own standalone shelf presence.

The "peach makeup" framing is doing a lot of work here. VDL is positioning this as a look that reads natural and youthful rather than full-coverage or contoured — which tracks with where a lot of Gen Z base preferences are sitting right now. The Cheek Stain Cream formula in particular is worth watching; cream blushers with a stain finish have been one of the more consistent repurchase categories in Korean beauty for the past couple of years, and a new entry from a brand with VDL's base-makeup credibility is not nothing.

On the Baby DONT CRY side, this is one more data point in what's shaping up to be a genuinely busy early chapter for the group. They recently appeared on TV Tokyo's "Chochoonpa" program, marking a Japanese broadcast debut, and they were included in NME's NME 100 list of new artists to watch this year — which is a notable Western music press co-sign for a group this early in their run. The VDL deal adds a beauty vertical to that momentum.

Pnation and VDL have both said the campaign will lean heavily into short-form and social content, with Ihyeon and Benny expected to carry the "peach makeup" look across platforms. Given that Baby DONT CRY's whole identity is built around members expressing distinct personal styles within a cohesive group aesthetic, the content angle here has more room to be interesting than the average idol-holds-product shoot.

If you're an OliveYoung regular, keep an eye out for the exclusive kit — it bundles the cushion foundation and the new cream blusher together, which is a practical way to test the blush without committing to it separately. The peach-tone direction is flattering across a wide range of skin tones, so this isn't a niche colorway situation.

The OliveYoung exclusive set is the one to watch for — both as a fan pickup and as a genuine base + blush combo worth trying on its own terms.
