BTS V's 'Winter Ahead' crosses 700M Spotify streams — his second solo track to hit the mark

BTS V's collaboration with Park Hyoshin, Winter Ahead (with Park Hyoshin), crossed 700 million streams on Spotify. V now has two solo tracks above that threshold — Love Me Again is the other.

Released November 29, 2024, the song charted on the US Billboard Hot 100 without any promotional campaign. V was still completing his military service. On debut it landed at No. 1 on Spotify's Holiday Digital Song Sales chart and No. 62 on the Holiday Top 100. The UK Official Charts Single Downloads chart ranked it No. 1, with No. 2 on Single Sales.

That Holiday Top 100 placement made V the first K-pop artist to place three songs on that chart simultaneously. Christmas Tree, White Christmas, and Winter Ahead all appeared together. All three have since hit No. 1 on the Holiday Digital Song Sales chart.

Billboard named Winter Ahead one of "The 27 Best Winter Songs for the Season" for 2025 year-end and ranked it No. 1 on its "Fans' Favorite Songs of 2024" list. YouTube Music grouped it with Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You and Justin Bieber's Mistletoe in its year-end global holiday classics selection.

The music video was filmed at a mansion in the Paris suburbs and in the Versailles area. (Fans took that location seriously enough to install a bench engraved with V's name in the Trianon Garden of the Palace of Versailles.)
