Jungkook's 'Seven' hits 3 billion Spotify streams, first Asian artist song to reach the mark

BTS Jungkook's debut solo single Seven crossed 3 billion cumulative streams on Spotify 1,073 days after its release. The World Music Awards identified it as the most-streamed song by an Asian artist in Spotify history. Pop Core's official account called it the first and only song by an Asian artist to reach 3 billion.

As of June 23, Seven sat at No. 64 on Spotify's all-time most-streamed songs chart. It was pulling roughly 1.8 million daily streams. The track entered Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Global for the 153rd consecutive week—the first and longest run by any Asian solo artist song. It had previously topped Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global for a cumulative 71 days (another Asian artist first) and held No. 1 on the Weekly Top Songs Global for nine straight weeks in 2023, the longest run by a male artist track globally that year.

Guinness World Records lists four records Jungkook set with Seven. The fastest 1 billion Spotify streams before filtering. A weekly stream peak of 89,748,171—the highest ever for a male artist track after filtering.

On Billboard, Seven debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and stayed on the chart for 15 weeks. It was the first Asian artist song to hold simultaneous No. 1 positions on Billboard Global (Excluding US) and Global 200 for seven consecutive weeks. The June 20 Global (Excluding US) chart placed it at No. 120, up seven spots from the prior week—its 152nd consecutive week on that chart, the longest streak for an Asian solo artist song.

Jungkook is the only artist to top both the Global (Excluding US) and Global 200 with three separate solo tracks: Seven, Standing Next To You, and 3D. Across those two charts he has placed 18 and 17 songs respectively. On Billboard Vietnam Hot 100, Seven sits at No. 3 and Standing Next To You at No. 36. On Billboard Korea Global K-Songs, Seven is at No. 22 and No. 36 on Singapore Songs; Standing Next To You (No. 61) and 3D (No. 78) are both in their 29th consecutive week on that chart.

His debut album GOLDEN has charted on Spotify's Weekly Top Albums Global for 137 weeks. The Seven music video has passed 619 million views.
