The first half of 2026 brought a string of high-profile K-pop comebacks and reunions, from IOI's 10th-anniversary chart return to BIGBANG's 20th-debut world tour.

The first half of 2026 kept K-pop moving fast. IOI, Wanna One, BIGBANG, SECRET, and BTS all made noise — some returning after years, some after more than a decade.
IOI marked their 10th debut anniversary with a full reunion, though not quite full: 9 of the original 11 members participated, with Joo Kyulkyung and Kang Mina sitting out. Gapjagi, their new single, hit No. 1 on music charts and music broadcast rankings.
Wanna One officially announced their reunion in January 2026 and resumed activities through the Mnet Plus reality program Wanna One Go. Nine members joined. Kang Daniel is currently serving in the military, and Lai Guanlin (라이관린) is working as a film director in China. Their first live stage since reuniting is set for KCON LA this summer.
BIGBANG is celebrating their 20th debut anniversary with full-group activities and a large-scale world tour under YG Entertainment. They recently performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Los Angeles. The tour kicks off at Goyang Sports Complex in August 2026.
BTS also made a comeback in the first half of the year, reaffirming their standing in the industry.
SECRET announced a reunion after 12 years with a twist. The group is adding new member Yebin alongside returning members Jeon Hyosung and Jung Hana, operating as a three-member act.
The industry is calling it "Back to 2010" season, and the numbers back that up.
