Oh Jung-se's "Ni-ga Jo-a" MV hits 1.84M views as Wild Thing challenge goes wide

The Ni-ga Jo-a music video crossed 1.84 million YouTube views by June 10 at 10 AM. Oh Jung-se performed in character as Choi Sung-gon, a fictional ballad prince from the film Wild Thing. A stage clip for the same song has 1.6 million views; a one-hour loop video has 240,000.

On Melon HOT100 as of June 9, Ni-ga Jo-a sat at No. 34. Rival in-film group Triangle's Love Is landed at No. 62. By June 12 at 9 AM those positions had shifted to No. 51 and No. 37 respectively. Both tracks are officially released on music platforms.

The film itself accumulated 637,950 admissions through the June 10 count, ranking third at the box office. Director Son Jae-gon's Wild Thing stars Kang Dong-won as Hyun-woo, Park Ji-hyun as Do-mi, and Eom Tae-gu as Sang-gu. Kang Dong-won spent several months practicing a single headstand move. Eom Tae-gu trained extensively to handle the rap sections.

The Ni-ga Jo-a challenge pulled in everyone from actors to idols. Ryu Seung-ryong opened it by transforming into Choi Sung-gun, followed by a relay from Lee Sung-min, Kim Mu-yeol, Jin Ki-joo, P.O, Ryu Seung-soo, and Kim Seon-ho. Winter from aespa, Kihyun from MONSTA X, and Taesan from BOYNEXTDOOR joined in. Singers Bada, Kyuhyun, Jung In, and Ko Young-bae from Soran also participated, along with choreographer Aiki, broadcaster Lala, magician Choi Hyun-woo, and chef Choi Kang-rok.

On June 13 — the in-film birthday of character Choi Sung-gon (set as June 13, 1979) — Oh Jung-se will visit theaters in character for a stage greeting and a "Choi Sung-gon Birthday Party Special Screening." Both events sold out immediately when tickets went on sale. Attendees receive a Choi Sung-gon photo card, postcard, and paper cup. Audiences have described the film as making them laugh until, at some point, their eyes started to sting.
