All-Female Cast Reimagines 'Our Bad Magnet' in Seoul Stage Run Through Aug. 1

Theatre company Nallo opened 우리들의 나쁜 자석 (Our Bad Magnet) on July 11 at Nain Jin Hall Theater 2 in Daehak-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul. The run continues through August 1.

Scottish playwright Douglas Maxwell wrote the original Our Bad Magnet. Nallo licensed it directly from Maxwell, then translated and adapted it themselves. The source material had four male actors. This version casts all eight roles with women.

The story unfolds in Girvan, a coastal Scottish village. Four friends—Fraser, Gordon, Paul, and Alan—appear at three different ages: 9, 19, and 29. At 19 they start a band. Gordon vanishes from a cliff. The other three carry the guilt. A decade later, at 29, they return to that same cliff. Paul brings Gordon's unpublished fairy-tale manuscript, hoping to see it in print.

Each role has two actors. Kim Na-eun and Yang Ye-jin play Fraser. Seo Nan and Choi Yun-seo share Gordon. Kim Sung-eun and Hwang A-in take Alan. Kim Hee-jae and Lee So-hye handle Paul.

Nallo launched in 2026 as a women's performance creation group. This is their debut production.
