RIIZE x CU bread collab hits 2 million units in one month — the K-pop food deal trend explained
RIIZE's CU bread line hit 2 million units in a month. Won's corn cream bread alone sold 700,000. The photocards? Reselling at 6-8x face value.

2 million loaves in 30 days
RIIZE and CU convenience stores dropped five bread products on March 18. Within one month, the line crossed 2 million cumulative units sold—the fastest sales period CU has recorded for any self-produced bread. That's roughly one unit per second.
Won's Corn Cream Bread (원이의 옥수수 크림빵) stole the show. Named after RIIZE leader Won (원이), it sold out completely on day one and has since moved 700,000 units. RIIZE is the first idol group to launch bread as a convenience store model. The members were directly involved in product development, folding their personal preferences into each item.
Limited-edition transparent photocards come packed with every purchase. Popular member cards are now flipping on secondhand sites at 6 to 8 times the original retail price. (Which, honestly, tracks for any collab with a photocard hook.)
The broader K-pop x food moment
RIIZE isn't alone. When TXT's Yeonjun returned with solo track Ice Cream in July, he teamed up with GS25 and dessert brand Yo-A-Jung (요아정) on a limited Sour Lemon Yogurt ice cream. The 40,000-unit initial stock sold out immediately after release, setting the fastest first-batch sell-out record among K-pop food collaborations.
Newer act OURBLUESDAY went the bakery route even before their official debut. They partnered with Paris Baguette on limited-edition cakes during their pre-debut phase. The group's stated identity—"enjoying every moment as if each day is a birthday"—made the tie-in a natural fit on paper.
Three groups. Three food categories. Three sell-out stories. The collab-to-convenience-store pipeline isn't slowing down.
