Band OurR drops debut full-length 'Answer.' eight years in the making
OurR's 12-track 'Answer.' closes a trilogy and marks the band's first full-length album since their debut eight years ago.
Eight years after debuting, OurR released their first full-length album Answer. on July 18.
The 12-track record closes a trilogy that began with I and continued with Can't. According to agency MPMG Music, "'Answer.' is an album connecting 'I' and 'can't' and an album concluding the trilogy." The label added that OurR "expressed through music the story of numerous choices that imperfect humans face."
The title track — 난그저까칠하게만들어진곰팡이야 — carries the album's emotional core. It builds around the desire for a new life and the wish to escape anxiety and self-hatred. Two other tracks bring in Japanese collaborators: REJAY features on 잠수, and Hokimoto Sora appears on Hold My.
OurR is running a listening event at Cheongeum Cafe's recording room in Daheung-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul through July 26. A full week to sit with the album in a dedicated listening space. On July 26, the band will also perform Oasis III alongside singer-songwriter Shim Jae-hyun at Gorani Special Forces in Sangsu-dong, Mapo-gu — a venue tied to a collaborator the band has known since early in their career.
