Cha Si-yeon lands first film lead role in youth music-romance '꼭짓점'

Cha Si-yeon has been cast as the female lead in 꼭짓점 (working title), her first leading role in a film. Mada Entertainment announced the casting on July 12.

She plays Eun Dan-bi, a woman who loves singing more than anyone but cannot pursue her dream in the face of real-world obstacles. Her character meets a man who has abandoned music entirely. The two gradually fill each other's voids and become, as the title suggests, each other's turning point (꼭짓점, or intersection point) in life. The genre is youth comedy-music-romance.

Audiences know Cha Si-yeon from SBS's 모범택시3 (Exemplary Taxi 3), where she played Yoon Yi-seo. 꼭짓점 is her jump to a lead credit on the big screen.

The film is planned by Shin Sang-jae and Lim Gwan-bin, with Lim Gwan-bin also directing and writing the screenplay. No premiere date has been announced.
