Nolan, Damon, and Theron touch down in Seoul on August 3, two days before 'The Odyssey' hits theaters.

Christopher Nolan is finally coming to Korea. The director confirmed an August 3 arrival in Seoul—his first time ever—with The Odyssey stars Matt Damon and Charlize Theron. The film opens August 5.
He'd tried to make the trip before. Multiple times. Each fell apart. This time he worked out the scheduling himself. "I sincerely thank Korean fans for the love and support they have shown my films," he said. "It is very meaningful to visit Seoul through 'Odyssey', and I am truly happy to meet Korean audiences and present the film."
The math behind the priority is straightforward: his films have racked up 36 million admissions across Korea. Interstellar, Dunkirk, Tenet, Oppenheimer—the list goes on.
Damon, who plays Odysseus, hasn't been back since he promoted Jason Bourne in 2016. That's a decade. Theron, cast as the nymph Calypso, is making her first official promotional visit to Korea. Both will join Nolan for a press conference and red carpet event.
The Odyssey tracks Odysseus after the Trojan War as he battles divine wrath and fate itself on his journey home to his family. Anne Hathaway plays Penelope, his wife. Tom Holland is his son Telemachus. Zendaya plays Athena, Robert Pattinson plays Antinous, and Lupita Nyong'o plays Helen.
