The track is a traditional ballad built around the feeling of a breakup that time won't erase. "왜 못 잊을까 너 하나, 왜 못 잊을까 이 사랑 / 하루라도 편하게 지낼 수가 없어"—the lyrics put the listener inside someone still unable to accept the loss, day after day. A second line, "왜 그대로야 시간 가도 왜 니 모습이 가득해," frames that same feeling as a kind of haunting. The other person's image still fills every moment despite the passage of time.
박찬종 (Park Chan-jong) wrote the lyrics. 필승불패 (Pilseungbulpae) and 영오 (05) composed it.
HEZIIN debuted in 2022 with 가던길 그냥 가세요. Since then she's built a steady catalog of drama and webtoon OSTs alongside ballad singles. (The emotional precision is kind of her whole brand at this point.) 왜 못 잊을까 is her latest addition to that run.
