Hyolyn returns July 22 with 'OriginaLyn', a Y2K pop album built around 'ChecK' and her own unfiltered story.

Hyolyn's fourth mini album OriginaLyn drops July 22 across online music platforms, with title track ChecK leading the comeback.
The album name fuses "Original" with her name "Lyn." She was deliberate about it. "I hope it's an album that can show the most primitive and essential side of the singer Hyolyn," she said. The concept pulls from "2026 version Y2K pop"—music she soaked up during her trainee days. "I listened again to songs I heard during my trainee days and they were so good. I wanted to bring out that nostalgia from back then."
ChecK is built around confident attitude and performance. Hyolyn frames it as a conversation with herself—"a message to myself"—while hoping it gives strength to anyone who needs confidence and boldness. Check gestures run throughout the choreography, playing on the title literally. She also refused to drop one performance detail: open heels. "When I heard this music, I thought I needed to wear shoes that would create that feeling," she said. "Open heels were the most difficult for me, but also the most impossible to give up."
Asked to define the album in one word: "Finally Hyolyn has arrived."
ReH Entertainment released an interview video July 11 through official SNS channels. Volleyball player Kim Yeon-kyung submitted a question: "What does music mean to you?" Hyolyn answered, "Music is like air to me." She also dropped that a new song suited for winter is already in the works.
(She confirmed she does back-view choreography often because she's "a bit confident" about her back. Priorities.)
To fans, she said she always felt sorry having nothing to give them, and is happy to offer this album as a gift—asking them to listen closely to the messages she's embedded in the songs.
