'I Am Solo' Season 29's Youngsoo confirms breakup with Oksoon: "I am single"

Youngsoo (영수), a participant on SBS Plus and ENA's I Am Solo Season 29, confirmed on July 14 that he and fellow cast member Oksoon (옥순) have broken up. The confirmation came through a fan Q&A on his social media. Someone asked directly: "Are you in a relationship?" His answer was simple. "I am single."

The two had become the final couple on the show's age-gap special episode, then went public as a real-life pair after filming wrapped. They shared dating moments on social media, including a Jeju Island trip. Youngsoo posted: "The spring of Jeju Island, bright and enchanting as if I were dreaming, and Dahee (다희)." Those posts, along with all couple photos on both accounts, have since been deleted. The deletions sparked breakup speculation.

Warning signs existed. In a May live broadcast, fellow Season 29 participant Youngja (영자) jokingly asked Youngsoo "Did you get a girlfriend?" after he mentioned a cancelled plan. He went flustered and couldn't respond. As recently as March, though, Youngsoo appeared on SBS Plus's YouTube content Seniors' Intervention and flatly denied the rumors when Youngja asked him point-blank: "To sum it up, it's a rumor. We are doing well now."

He also answered "That couldn't be" when fans asked about a girlfriend in a separate Q&A, and listed his ideal type as "someone who likes spicy tofu."

In a statement tied to the breakup confirmation, Youngsoo referenced his time on the show: "If I caused inconvenience over the past 10 weeks with my shortcomings, I will humbly accept that as my responsibility." He added that he intends to "walk the path of my life with a more mature appearance" going forward. Oksoon has not issued a public statement.
