Ji Yeon-su shuts down remarriage rumor: "I've never even met this person"

Ji Yeon-su pushed back hard against a remarriage rumor on July 7, after a follower flagged that a portal encyclopedia entry listed her as having remarried a dentist five years her junior and having a daughter with him.

She responded on Instagram: "It's a strange world where you can marry someone you've never even met once." The denial was blunt.

This wasn't her first time addressing it. Back on June 22, she'd already tackled the same rumor on YouTube. "They say I remarried a 5-years-younger dentist and had a daughter — bring him here. Where is this man? I haven't even met this 5-years-younger dentist — who is he?" She expanded to the bigger picture: "Such fake news or YouTube content presenting things unrelated to my life as if they really happened is honestly completely unrelated to me." She needs distance from it, she said, and has "felt through living" how necessary that is.

On her actual romantic life, she was direct. "In a way, Minsu's father (Eli) was the last person I had a connection with, dated, and divorced. Since then, I haven't even exchanged contact information with anyone. I didn't have the emotional space or time for that, and I didn't allow for it." Her remarriage bar is high: "a unicorn as a remarriage partner." Not ruling out dating. Not settling either. (Her stated ideal: a man who completed military service, graduated high school, and doesn't drink.)

Ji Yeon-su married Eli, a U-KISS member 11 years her junior, in 2014. They divorced in 2020. She's been raising their son, now in 4th grade, alone. Eli announced his own remarriage to a non-celebrity on June 14.
