Lee Chan-hyung joins KBS 2TV drama 'Sleeping Doctor' as pharmacy employee Yang Jae-jin

Lee Chan-hyung is heading to KBS 2TV. He's confirmed a role in the upcoming drama Sleeping Doctor, playing Yang Jae-jin, a MediPlus pharmacy employee described as warm-looking with sharp conversational instincts.

Sleeping Doctor centers on a struggling private psychiatry clinic and the romantic entanglement between Hong Kyung, a first-time self-employed person, and Nam Ji-o, a one-man-army locum doctor. Kim Sung-chul and Jin Ki-joo lead the cast.

Lee shared the casting news himself on July 11, posting a photo from set with arms spread wide in front of a coffee truck sent by supporters. His caption was brief: "Thank you."

His most recent drama was ENA's Monday-Tuesday series Honor: Their Courtroom, where he played Kang Eun-seok, a character who opens the story. That ran February 2 to March 10, 2026. He also joined JTBC's Mungchyeoya Chanda 4 as a new cast member. Soccer runs deep in his background—he came up through the Bucheon FC 1995 youth system starting in fifth grade. On May 17, he performed the ceremonial opening kick at Bucheon Sports Complex ahead of the K League 1 Round 15 match between Bucheon and Pohang.

Beyond acting, Lee has released music over several years. 길에서 (Feat. 적재) came from the 2019 project album 길에서 (X-MAS Project Vol.1). He released 붙잡을 수가 없잖아 in 2020 from the album 사랑했던 날부터 이별했던 날까지. Then came 말도 못해 in 2021 and 술이 뭐길래 in 2022. (Easy to miss if you only know him from the pitch.)
