LISENSE rode a 2026 chart-reversal wave into their comeback with a reinterpretation of KARA's 2008 classic.

LISENSE (리센느) is back with a remake of KARA's Pretty Girl (프리티 걸), releasing the track alongside a music video. (Two outlets disagree on the exact date — KBS reports July 9, YTN reports July 8, 2026.)
Pretty Girl was one of KARA's signature songs when it came out in 2008, drawing fans across South Korea, Japan, and beyond. LISENSE's version hit Melon's real-time chart at No. 1 immediately after release. Their existing track Runaway (런어웨이) sat at No. 2 on the same chart at the same time. The group held both top spots simultaneously.
This comeback caps a run that started earlier in 2026. YouTube content and a member's viral catchphrase drove renewed interest in LISENSE's back catalog, pulling the group into mainstream recognition. Member Won (원이) was specifically cited in connection with the YouTube content that sparked the buzz. LISENSE is a self-described 중소돌 — a girl group from a mid-sized agency, not one of the major entertainment conglomerates.
Alongside the release, the members ran an approximately 50-minute online live broadcast. "We will prove that the love you've shown LISENSE was not in vain," they said. This is only the beginning, they added, and they intend to work harder.
