Former world No. 1 taekwondo athlete Na Tae-joo, now a trot singer, has joined the 'Bad' challenge with a simple verdict.

Na Tae-joo, 35, tried the Bad challenge. His take: "Bad 노래좋네" (Bad song is good).
The trot singer's path is unusual. He was a competitive taekwondo athlete who hit world ranking No. 1 before switching to music. That background never left his stage identity. He debuted in 2020 on TV CHOSUN's Tomorrow is Mr. Trot, entered as a working-class participant, and made it to the semi-finals with a TOP 14 finish.
His first mini-album, 인생열차 (Life Train), came out the same year. The title track paired lyrics comparing a train to life with an upbeat rhythm and taekwondo performance elements—a formula his fandom, 태주날개 (Tae-joo Wings), came to expect. In 2021 he released 오하태 (오늘 하루 태권) with the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation. 2022 brought the digital single 살까요 (Shall We Live) and OST work for the dramas 으라차차 내 인생 and 현재는 아름다워.
He held a fixed role as 'Dada Teacher' on the children's program 딩동댕 유치원. He appeared on variety shows 걸어서 환장속으로 and 익스큐수미: 일단 잡숴봐. He recently competed on 현역가왕2 (Active King of Trot 2).
Earlier in 2026, the Financial Supervisory Service appointed him as a voice phishing damage prevention ambassador. (Taekwondo world champ to anti-scam spokesperson is a range, honestly.) He is set to appear in educational videos on voice phishing crime methods and countermeasures.
