Nam Yu-jeong books Waterbomb Sokcho 2026 — her first festival stage since leaving BBGirls

Nam Yu-jeong is headed to Waterbomb. Her agency RND Company confirmed she will take the stage at Waterbomb Sokcho 2026 on August 22 at Hanwha Resort Seorak Sorano in Sokcho, Gangwon Province. It's her first time on the Waterbomb lineup since debut, and her first major music festival appearance since she left BBGirls and pivoted to acting.

RND Company said she plans to go "beyond the existing bright and healthy image" and show the charm of a new "summer muse."

The 1991-born performer debuted with Brave Girls and was part of the Rollin' reverse-chart phenomenon in 2021. The song was originally released in 2017 and went viral through SNS four years later. Tracks Chimat Baram and Unjeon Man Hae also topped music charts and music broadcast programs during that run. Fans nicknamed her Kkobok-jwa after noticing her smile resembled the Pokémon character Squirtle.

In 2023, the group rebranded as BBGirls with members Min-yeong, Yu-na, and Eun-ji. Her contract with Warner Music Korea expired in April 2023, and she departed the group to pursue acting. The remaining three members signed with agency GLG and have continued as BBGirls. They recently released the new track BODY WAVE.

Min-yeong addressed departure-related discord rumors directly. "There was no discord at all," she said. She added that "there were disappointing points, but we decided to respect each other's choices."

On the acting side, Nam Yu-jeong appeared in the Tving drama 2도 없는 너 last year. The Waterbomb stage on August 22 marks her return to a live music event format.
