Oh Yoon-ah's autistic son Song Min completes 5km marathon in 42 minutes despite foot condition

Song Min crossed the 5km finish line in 42 minutes and 21 seconds. Faster than his mother expected.

Oh uploaded the full challenge to her YouTube channel on July 17 under the title 도전은 정말 아름다운 거야! 우리 민이 장하다ㅣOh!윤아 민이 마라톤 도전. Song Min is autistic. His feet turn inward, making running painful. "The teacher told him not to run with those legs," Oh said, "but since he's young, he's challenging himself. I put in insoles which helps a bit, but it might still be difficult."

She'd braced for the worst. "He has perseverance so he won't give up, but the key will be how quickly he adapts to this environment." When the time came in, that caution cracked. "I laughed without realizing it at the faster-than-expected record."

(The finish time is the whole point — 42:21 for 5km, inward feet and all.)

Oh said she wants to keep going: "I want to continue showing that friends like Min can do everything too."

The video arrives weeks after Oh made headlines for remarrying a non-celebrity, 11 years after her divorce, during which she raised Song Min alone.
