Park Bom announces composer debut with self-written song 'Rainy Day'

Park Bom is writing songs now. On July 8, she posted on social media: she'd written and composed Rainy Day entirely on her own, humming out the melody and writing her thoughts by hand. "I decided to work as a composer as well," she said. "I will record it with my own voice later and upload it."

Two other self-composed tracks were also listed: 네모와 동그라미의 세계 (The World of Squares and Circles) and 아무것도 없는 아침 (A Morning With Nothing). No release dates were given.

The announcement comes after a rough stretch. Park Bom suspended activities last August citing health reasons, then ended her exclusive contract with Dination Entertainment last month. This social media post marks her first public move since.

Her appearance in the post also drew attention, with fans comparing her current look to older photos—including her 2006 cameo in Lee Hyo-ri's Anystar MV. (Comment sections went places, as they do.) In 2020, significant weight gain had prompted fan concern; she lost the weight within a year.
