Shin Seung Hun writes new songs at Jeju Island camp, eyes two-track output

Shin Seung Hun (신승훈) is on Jeju Island working on new music. The 58-year-old singer, whose real name is Shin Dong Hak, posted the update on SNS: "Jeju Island 2nd song camp preparation complete. I'm thinking of making about 2 songs here."

The camp follows SINCERELY MELODIES, his 12th studio album, released September 23, 2025. Dual title tracks — "너라는 중력" (Your Gravity) and "TRULY" — anchored the record, joined by album cuts "별의 순간" (Moment of Stars), "이별을 배운다" (Learning Goodbye), and "끝에서, 서로에게" (At the End, To Each Other).

His second album's title track "보이지 않는 사랑" (Invisible Love) held No. 1 on SBS's music program for 14 consecutive weeks. That run remains the longest consecutive chart-topping streak in domestic terrestrial broadcast history. He racked up 31 total No. 1 finishes across the era. His fifth album Shin Seung Hun V, led by "나보다 조금 더 높은 곳에 니가 있을 뿐" (You Are Just a Little Higher Than Me), sold approximately 2.47 million copies—second all-time for a single album. He debuted in 1991, when his first title track topped multiple music broadcasts and hit million-seller status early.

Live, his 35th anniversary debut concert sold out completely. The demand prompted an additional run: "2026 SHIN SEUNG HUN LIMITED EDITION" at GS Art Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, across six performances over two weeks—April 10–12 and April 17–19. His solo concert brand The 신승훈 Show has run for several years. As of 2016 he had performed over approximately 1,800 solo concerts.

In June he met with colleagues including Lee Moon-se, Park Kyung-rim, and Hae in Seongsu-dong (his first visit there), describing the gathering as a reunion of the 별이 빛나는 밤에 family. Two new Jeju songs could be next.
