YOUNG POSSE drop first mixtape 'Young Tape' with KARA 'Mr.' reinterpretation

YOUNG POSSE released their first mixtape Young Tape on July 13. Member Do-eun shot and edited the title track MV.

Mr. 2026 takes KARA labelmate group's Mr. and rebuilds it around chipmunk vocals—the kind of pitch-shifted style tied to Kanye West and other American hip-hop artists. Vocal samples, synth riffs, and rap layer over a reworked version of the original chorus. The group calls it kitschy-yet-hip.

Do-eun filmed and edited the Mr. 2026 video. It uses a vintage camcorder look to capture the five members' raw energy and what they frame as unguarded, youthful moments.

All 12 tracks are self-composed. Beyond the title: 망했으면해니가., 잠이 안와요 (NO SLEEP), I know, kawa, NEED U, 0nline_x3, TOO SUNNY (feat. Danji), Sweetttttttt;3, Don't say my name (feat. Eric minz), DISTANCE (feat. Danji), and Pilot2.

Jeongseonhye (정선혜), Wiyeonjeong (위연정), Jiana (지아나), Do-eun (도은), and Hanjieun (한지은) debuted in 2023 and have written and composed their own work since. Young Tape pulls from songs they made continuously during their trainee years—material that captures the raw emotions of their teens and early twenties. The kind of thing that doesn't survive a full studio polish cycle.
