Baby Shark Boy debuts as solo artist with single 'WAVE', feat. Monsta X's Jooheon
A decade after Baby Shark Exercise, the boy from YouTube's most-viewed video drops his first single.
Baby Shark Boy released his first digital single, WAVE, on August 10, 2026. Ten years prior, he appeared in the 'Pinkfong Baby Shark Exercise' video—the most-viewed clip on YouTube.
Pinkfong describes WAVE as its first artist project to connect a global IP with the real performer's own story through music. Baby Shark Boy co-wrote the lyrics. Monsta X member Jooheon is featured on the track.
"If I danced next to Baby Shark 10 years ago, now I want to share my voice and the story I wrote myself," Baby Shark Boy said. "I am happy to start anew with those who have remembered me for a long time, and I will show you how I grow."
A Pinkfong Company official framed the project differently: not as "bringing back the boy in the video, but in him telling his own story." The company plans to "authentically convey Baby Shark Boy's new beginning."
Pinkfong will also release a behind-the-scenes documentary, WAVE: Boy's Record (웨이브:소년의 기록), documenting his growth alongside Baby Shark. A kid who went from a children's exercise clip to writing his own lyrics is a full arc.
