ARIRANG hits 1 million cumulative points on Oricon's combined album ranking (Aug. 17), making BTS the only foreign act with three such albums on the chart.

BTS's fifth studio album ARIRANG reached 1 million cumulative points on Oricon's combined album ranking — which aggregates physical sales, digital downloads, and streaming — as of August 17, 2026.
Three BTS albums have now crossed that threshold: BTS, THE BEST, MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY ~, and ARIRANG. Snow Man and Mrs. GREEN APPLE are the only other acts to reach 1 million points on three albums in Oricon's combined ranking. BTS ranks third all-time and stands alone as the only foreign group on the list.
ARIRANG had already been dominating Japan's charts. The album swept both the Album Ranking and Combined Album Ranking categories in Oricon's First Half Ranking 2026, released in June. Its first-half physical sales topped 700,000 copies—the first album to hit that mark since Queen's Jewels in 2004, a 22-year gap. On the first-half Combined Album Ranking, ARIRANG crossed 800,000 points, placing third all-time behind King & Prince and Snow Man, and first among foreign artists.
BTS's 2020 digital single Dynamite surpassed 1 billion cumulative streams on Billboard Japan, the first foreign song to reach that figure and the group's highest-streamed individual track. Dynamite was BTS's first English-language song. It topped the US Billboard Hot 100 dated September 5, 2020—the first K-pop group to do so. In Japan, it ranked second on Billboard Japan's Hot 100 annual chart for 2021.
