Miyeon of (G)I-DLE released her first Japanese digital single, RUN AWAY, on August 10. Rock band sound. She co-wrote the lyrics.

The solo release dropped while (G)I-DLE's 9th mini album We made was still going strong from its July 6 debut, so Miyeon's individual move landed right in the middle of that group era.

On August 27, Miyeon showed up at a cosmetic brand event at Grand Walkerhill Seoul in Gwangjin-gu. Kim Ji-won was there. Jung Hae-in too. TWICE's Jihyo and model Irene rounded out the guest list.

RUN AWAY is her first Japanese-language release. For a vocalist who's spent most of her time in (G)I-DLE's pop lane, the rock tilt marks a shift.
