K/DA returns after 8 years with 'FIRESTARTER' MV and 4-track drop
K/DA, the League of Legends virtual girl group, returns after 8 years with a new MV and three additional tracks, featuring (G)I-DLE's Miyeon and Soyeon alongside Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb.
8 years later, K/DA drops FIRESTARTER
Riot released the music video for K/DA's FIRESTARTER on the League of Legends YouTube channel on the 19th. The virtual group's first comeback in 8 years.
The original lineup had (G)I-DLE's Miyeon voicing Ari, Madison Beer as Evelyn, Zira Burns as Kaisa, and (G)I-DLE's Soyeon as Akali. For FIRESTARTER, Miyeon and Soyeon return. Sophie Powers, who broke through globally with STFU, takes over as Evelyn. English singer-songwriter Mimi Webb steps in as Kaisa.
Four tracks, two pairings
K/DA released four tracks alongside the MV:
- FIRESTARTER — the lead single
- WATCH ME — Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb
- NEVER GOING BACK — Miyeon and Soyeon
- GIRLS — Sophie Powers, SORANA, and ROYAL & THE SERPENT, framed as a collaboration with the popular League of Legends skin DJ Sona
Miyeon and Soyeon getting their own dedicated collab track while also anchoring the main single is a flex. The four-track package splits the new and returning voices cleanly: Powers and Webb pair off on WATCH ME, the (G)I-DLE duo get NEVER GOING BACK, and GIRLS pulls in DJ Sona's universe with three additional artists.
