Girls' Generation sub-unit Hyorisoo hits turbulence over center position ahead of debut

Hyorisoo, the Girls' Generation sub-unit of Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Sooyoung, will release their debut single Skibidi in Q3 2026, according to SM Entertainment's activity plan from August 5. We Dem Boyz is handling the choreography.
But the road there got rocky. Episode 6 of Hyoyeon's Level Up, posted August 12, caught the group mid-rehearsal and mid-argument over Hyoyeon's center position. Yuri wasn't having it: "Was that agreed upon with me?" Sooyoung was just as direct: "Why should I make a path for Hyoyeon?"
When the center fight widened into a skill debate, Sooyoung didn't back down. "How can I be a master at something I'm doing for the first time? You have to do it for a long time to become a master," she said. Three Girls' Generation veterans. One center spot. The math was always going to be messy.
The episode ended with a preview of fellow Girls' Generation member Tiffany stepping in to mediate.
