IU's comeback post featured a Jang Ki-ha and the Faces track—weeks after her split from actor Lee Jong-suk.

IU broke a social media silence on August 6 with a flurry of photos. "Hello, it's been a while." "Living hard." "A birthday celebration that came very late." The song playing behind it all was 별일 없이 산다 by Jang Ki-ha and the Faces, a band fronted by her ex-boyfriend.
The choice landed immediately. Jang Ki-ha is IU's former partner. They first met in 2013 through his SBS PowerFM radio show 장기하의 대단한 라디오, confirmed their relationship in 2015 (an 11-year age gap between them), and broke up in 2017 after roughly two years of public dating. He is currently in a relationship with actress Yoon Ga-i, a pairing that developed after the two worked together on Coupang Play's SNL Korea Season 4 in 2023.
IU had been publicly dating actor Lee Jong-suk since 2022. Their split was announced last month.
This post marks her first visible public activity since a difficult stretch: she cancelled a September concert at Goyang Stadium due to health issues and adjusted the release plan for her sixth full-length album. Picking a song called "Nothing Much Is Happening" for your first post-breakup check-in is a choice.
