Kim Jae-joong returns after 1 year 3 months with single 'The Wave', featuring Lee Moo-jin collaboration

Kim Jae-joong is back. The singer-actor announced his new single 더 웨이브 (The Wave) on August 14 via official SNS, sharing the tracklist and kicking off a comeback countdown. His first domestic Korean release in 1 year and 3 months.

The two-track single leads with title track 투나잇 (Tonight), described as a showcase of his powerful vocals. He's stated his ambition to reconnect with fans and leap back into the world. B-side 마중길 takes a quieter turn—a lyrical track aimed at offering comfort to tired everyday life. That second track comes with a notable production credit. Chorok Byeong Bonbu, the outfit led by singer-songwriter Lee Moo-jin, handled production on 마중길, marking a new musical pairing between the two.

The rollout spans three days. An album preview drops August 18. The MV teaser for 투나잇 follows on August 19. 더 웨이브 then releases in full on August 20 across online music platforms.
