Kim Su-chan's 'Nam-ja-da' nominated for 1st place on MBC ON Trot Champion

Kim Su-chan's Nam-ja-da earned a nomination for the August Monthly Champion title on MBC ON's Trot Champion. The winner airs live on August 13.

Three acts are in the running: Nam-ja-da, Bin Ye-seo's Mimosa, and Seong-ri's Oneul I Bam. A win would mark the first music broadcast number one for all three.

Kim Su-chan posted a message to fans after learning of the nomination: "This alone is enough to make me happy and joyful. Thank you suddenly for the nomination."

The 31-year-old trot singer debuted in 2012 with Audition. He's appeared on KBS's Gayo Mudae since 2013. He placed 10th in TV Chosun's Tomorrow Is Mr. Trot final round and won the grand prize at the National Singing Contest's Chungcheongnam-do Boryeong edition. His discography includes Love's Problem Solver and the 2020 mini-album Su-chan Noraebang, which led with Buttocks. He recently guested on KBS 1TV's Hwang Shin-hye's Let's Do It Together.

The August 13 lineup features Bin Ye-seo debuting Eutteum Taryeong, a track that blends traditional Korean melody with disco. Park Hyun-ho performs Hanjanharyeo Gapshida. Choi Woo-jin brings Insaeng-i Deora. Jung Da-kyung performs Geu Ireum Eomma. Choi Yun-ha closes with Ojik Han Saram. Kim Da-na, Kim Yong-pil, Kim Ui-young, Kim Jung-yeon, Ryu Won-jung, Park Sung-on, Lee Seung-hyun, and Jin So-ri round out the 15-artist lineup.
