MBC's 'Idol Star Athletics Championships' skips 2026 due to Asian Games conflict

MBC's Idol Star Athletics Championships (아육대) won't air in 2026. The holiday special has run since 2010, but a scheduling conflict with the Asian Games forced it to sit out this year.

Last year marked the show's 15th anniversary. The production celebrated by adding pistol shooting as a new event. The cast has shifted too. Trot singers Jang Min-ho, Young-tak, Lee Chan-won, and Jung Dong-won now compete alongside idols on what used to be an idol-only stage.
