NINA released her second mini-album WHY NOT ME? on August 30 across music platforms. The title track Why came from producer Lee Hyun-seung, known for a string of hits.
Six songs, one emotional journey. Excitement at love's start. Anxiety. Heartbreak. Regret. Self-love at the end. Shadow Boxing compares a boxing match to love. QT captures a girl's pride as she tries to appear strong in front of the person she likes. mamapapa is about wanting to break free from the frameworks society sets. Tell Me Where Are We calmly sorts through the feelings left after a relationship ends—NINA co-wrote that one herself. Closer 해줘 (Say It for Me) looks back on love recognized too late.
The album centers on contemporary R&B and pulls in hip-hop, pop, swing EDM, alternative pop, and ballad. Producer Kim Do-hoon also contributed alongside Lee Hyun-seung.
Global entertainment company RECOV oversees NINA's Korean activities, handling the title track music video production, music distribution, and broadcasting and promotion.
