Red Velvet's 'Velvet Summer' hits #1 on iTunes in 17 regions, tops QQ Music and Kugou charts

Red Velvet's summer mini album Velvet Summer landed at number 1 on iTunes Top Albums in 17 regions. Australia and Brazil were among the latest to join the list. The album cracked the top 10 across 33 regions total.

On China's QQ Music digital album sales chart, it hit number 1 and earned a Gold Album certification (awarded when sales exceed 250,000 yuan). It also topped the integrated K-pop chart spanning all five music platforms under Tencent Music and claimed the top spot on Kugou Music's digital album sales chart.

Four separate chart peaks in China alone. On August 14, the group's official SNS posted multiple photos of member Wendy with hashtags including #SurfinBoy and #RedVelvet_SurfinBoy, pointing to continued promotional push around the release.
