Ariana Grande closes Eternal Sunshine Tour in London, confirms hiatus

"I love you" — and then it was over

Ariana Grande closed the Eternal Sunshine Tour at London's O2 Arena on September 2. The run spanned 41 cities across North America, Europe, and beyond.

From the stage, Grande told the crowd: "This tour was one of the most beautiful and special experiences of my life. I will cherish these precious memories forever."

She continued: "I have the coolest fans in the world. I always have."

The sign-off was emotional. She told the audience that every moment with them made her happy and that she wanted to express her gratitude. "Thank you and I love you," she said.

The hiatus she planned long before tonight

The farewell hit harder because Grande had already announced a hiatus through her representative in August 2026. At the final show, she addressed it directly, calling the decision "a plan I quietly made long ago" chosen "independently after careful consideration."

She also pushed back on fan concern that negative public reactions had forced her hand. "The truth is the opposite," she said. Setting personal limits and feeling grateful for the love she has received are not mutually exclusive. "People sometimes need rest."

(The directness of that statement — naming the fan worry, then dismantling it — is a move not every artist would make on their last night of a tour.)

No return date has been announced.
