IU drops "Dear my crazy soulmate" MV, dedicated to best friend Yoo In-na

A love letter, cast in a police station

IU dropped the music video for Dear my crazy soulmate (디어 마이 크레이지 소울메이트) on December 10 at 6 PM via her official YouTube channel. The clip opens with IU and actor Shim Dal-gi in police uniforms. Then veteran actress Kim Young-ok arrives and hurls a small stone at a police station window, shattering the glass.

Kim Young-ok gets taken to a detention facility where actor Na Moon-hee works as a correctional officer. They exchange lines pulled straight from the song's lyrics. Kim delivers "실망했지" ("I was disappointed"). Na fires back with "넌 내 앞에선 평생 이상해도 돼" — "You can be strange in front of me forever." Three senior Korean actresses in one MV is not a small casting call.

The dedication that explains everything

IU added a single phrase to the video's description: 유인나에게 — "For Yoo In-na." The song and MV are explicitly a gift to her longtime best friend, actress and radio host Yoo In-na. The two have been close since appearing together on the SBS variety program 영웅호걸 (Heroes) in 2010.
