On September 24, IVE's official account posted Jang Wonyoung lip-syncing to IU's new single 이 별로부터. The caption read "Jieun unnie, fighting♥" — a direct shoutout to IU, whose given name is Lee Jieun. IU saw it and left a comment: "♥기억합니다♥" ("♥I remember♥"). Two words. That's the whole thing.
The song contains the lyric, "Do you remember the moment love began when you suddenly opened the door on an ordinary day." IU's comment hits different in that context.
The single and what's coming
IU released the digital single on the 10th. The two-track release includes 이 별로부터 and Dear my crazy soulmate, with IU credited as a lyricist on both. It's a pre-release for her upcoming sixth full-length album.
Wonyoung and IU's friendship started last year when IVE appeared as guests on IU's YouTube channel. IVE recently wrapped their first world tour before Wonyoung showed up in the comments of K-pop's most-discussed moment right now.
