Ji Sang-ryeol returns as rapper G.C Hammer in Mighty Mouse MV after 20-year gap

Twenty years since Ji Sang-ryeol last stepped onto a music video set as G.C Hammer, his rapper alter ego. The wait ended with a shoot for Mighty Mouse's 소주밤 (Soju Night), where he took a featuring credit. KBS 2TV's 살림하는 남자들 시즌2 aired the footage on the 19th.

On set, Ji Sang-ryeol nailed a bomb-shot (폭탄주) mixing scene in a single take. The production expanded what had originally been planned as just two cuts. Aichelin Yeju (아이칠린 예주) played the female lead. Park Seo-jin (박서진), personally recruited by Ji Sang-ryeol, showed up as a cameo — though Park admitted, "My older sister and brother declined, so I went."

Cast and crew reactions

Back in the studio, the panel wasn't holding back. Eun Ji-won said the result was strong enough to warrant a full identity swap: "The result is so good. Now aren't you going back as G.C Hammer, dropping the name Ji Sang-ryeol?" He joked that had he been in Mighty Mouse's position, he would have pulled the featuring entirely and taken back the recording.

Mighty Mouse said Ji Sang-ryeol looked "a bit different" on camera. He meant it as a compliment.

Ji Sang-ryeol credited himself with boosting the career of Lisenne, pointing to his acting résumé on dramas Dae Jang Geum and Yi San as proof of his range. (He also previously claimed to have taught acting to Gong Yoo and Kang Dong-won, which he brought up again here.) On the team dynamic on set, he kept it simple: "Why are you saying that, we're one team."

Music Bank appearance confirmed

Mighty Mouse disclosed that Ji Sang-ryeol is scheduled to appear on Music Bank. He'd kept the news from Ji Sang-ryeol until that moment.
