Kim Sim-ya drops surprise 26-minute MV for 'Dogma,' directed by Park Chan-kyung
Kim Sim-ya's first full-length album in 6 years arrives Sept. 9 with a 26-minute visual by Park Chan-kyung, artist-director and younger brother of filmmaker Park Chan-wook.
A 26-minute drop with zero warning
Kim Sim-ya released a 26-minute music video for Dogma on September 4 at 5 PM without announcement. The album follows September 9 at 6 PM.
Park Chan-kyung directed it. He's an artist and filmmaker who built the video from his own paintings and footage. His brother is Park Chan-wook. Together they made PARKing CHANce, a collaborative project that produced the short film Night Fishing (파란만장) — it won the Golden Bear for short film at the 2011 Berlin International Film Festival. Park Chan-kyung also directed the 2013 documentary Manshin. His work has shown at the National Museum of Korea and the Smithsonian National Asian Art Museum.
Speaker-equipped physical edition sells out early
The limited physical edition isn't a standard CD. It's a device with a built-in small speaker. Pre-orders already caused temporary out-of-stock at some retailers. Limited copies resume sales September 9, the same day as the digital release.
