Ko Young-wook brings up a 2005 music video to mock Lee Min-jung

On September 4, Ko Young-wook shared a screenshot of a news article about Lee Min-jung on his SNS and posted a comment directed at her. "When I first cast you on the street in Apgujeong when you were in high school, you said you weren't interested in the entertainment industry," he wrote, "but you ended up appearing in my music video. Before you know it, you've become a middle-aged person absorbed in playing celebrity. I am ahead in many ways... choa ha."

The casting he referenced happened in 2005, when Lee Min-jung was in her first year of high school. She recalled in a past broadcast that Ko Young-wook rolled down his car window and asked if she was interested in the entertainment industry. She answered no. She eventually appeared in his music video after being asked to help just once—and did three days of school cleaning duty after the shoot.

Lee Byung-hun's family trip photo also in his sights

Ko Young-wook also commented on a family vacation photo of Lee Min-jung and Lee Byung-hun, who had traveled with their two children to a luxury pool villa the previous month. "Does Lee Byung-hun hyung's expression not look very happy?" he wrote. "Or is this the kind of expression most husbands unconsciously make when they go on family trips?"

Before targeting the couple, Ko Young-wook had already posted negatively-toned SNS messages mentioning Yoo Ah-in, Lee Sang-min, Tak Jae-hoon, Lee Ji-hye, Jang Dong-min, and Bibi.

The conviction that defines the context

Ko Young-wook debuted in 1994 as a member of Rula (룰라), known for hits including 날개 잃은 천사 and 3!4!. He was indicted for sexually assaulting or forcibly molesting three minors on multiple occasions between July 2010 and December 2012, in an officetel and in vehicles. The Supreme Court confirmed a sentence of two years and six months imprisonment in 2013, along with three years of electronic ankle bracelet monitoring and five years of personal information disclosure.

He was released in July 2015 and attempted to resume public activity through YouTube and Instagram. Both channels were shut down following platform policies restricting sex offender accounts and sustained user reports.
