12 years since the Lady's Code accident: remembering EunB and RiSe

The crash that ended two careers
Twelve years ago today, Lady's Code member EunB (고은비) died at 21 following a traffic accident on the Yeongdong Expressway near Singal Junction in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The group had just finished recording KBS 1TV's Yeolin Eumakhoe in Daegu and were heading back to Seoul when their vehicle skidded on a wet road, struck a guardrail, and overturned.
RiSe (권리세) was in the same car. She remained unconscious after the crash and died four days later on September 7, 2014. She was 23. The Yeolin Eumakhoe recording they had just completed became the final stage performance for both members.
A chart milestone EunB never saw
Lady's Code debuted in 2013 with CODE#01 Bad Girl (코드#01 나쁜여자). They released Pretty Pretty (예뻐 예뻐), So Wonderful, and KISS KISS before the accident. EunB had reportedly wished for a number-one song on the music charts during her lifetime. I'm Fine Thank You (아임 파인 땡큐) later reached the top of multiple music charts—a milestone she did not live to see.
What remained of the group
Originally five members. After the accident, Lady's Code restructured as a three-member group and continued releasing music. In 2020, their exclusive contract with Polaris Entertainment ended.
