Nam Gyu-ri wrote and released her own 'Samgyeopsal Song' in May. Now she's the face of the Korean Beef Promotion Committee's digital campaigns.

Singer Nam Gyu-ri has been named digital content model for the Korean Beef Promotion Committee (한돈자조금관리위원회), the organization announced on September 2.
The pairing makes sense. Nam Gyu-ri wrote and composed Samgyeopsal Song (삼겹살송) herself—a track rooted in her well-documented love of pork belly, which she'd eaten as early as breakfast on broadcast—and released it as an official music track on May 18. The committee cited that history as the reason for the selection.
She joins chef An Sung-jae (안성재), who was appointed the committee's official promotional ambassador in April. The two will promote the taste, nutrition, and broader appeal of Korean beef together.
To mark the appointment, the committee is running the Handone Samgyeopsal Song Challenge (한돈 삼겹살송 챌린지) through September 30. Participants film themselves singing or dancing to the track, post the video on personal social media, then submit the post URL via an event entry form. On TikTok, they can also use the committee's 'Handoni' (한도니) mascot filter or create a duet with Nam Gyu-ri's original video.
Top entries win a Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 (1 team), Samsung Galaxy Watch9 (2 teams), or Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro (5 teams). Around 148 participants will also receive Korean Beef Mall (한돈몰) vouchers totaling 9 million won. Winners will be notified individually after October 15.
"I hope this challenge will be an opportunity for more people to enjoy Korean beef through song and dance, and to become closer to Korean beef," said committee chairman Lee Gi-hong (이기홍).
