Seo In-young is dropping her first album in a decade. A new YouTube video has her coming clean about spending 10 billion won on shopping—200 million won every single month.

Seo In-young is finally making a new album. On September 9, her YouTube channel uploaded a video titled Singer Seo In-young Preparing New Album for First Time in 10 Years — First Reveal, marking the first public confirmation of the project.
The video doubles as a candid look back at her peak-era finances. Seo In-young said she burned through 10 billion won in total by spending 200 million won a month on shopping—not on stage production. "It wasn't spent on performances or stage costumes," she said. "It was spent on shopping." Her father eventually cut her off. "I had my credit card taken away by my father."
She laid out the math plainly. "Even if I keep earning money, if I spend 200 million won per month, eventually my bank account becomes empty." She paused. "Spending 200 million won per month is not difficult."
On charts, she framed the comeback differently. "I originally cared a lot about charts, but I couldn't lose mine," she said. "So I wanted to show that I'm a crazy person."
(G)I-DLE leader Jeon So-yeon also appeared in the video. She traced her ambition back to elementary school: "I'm exactly the 'Cinderella' generation. I was in 4th grade of elementary school when I first dreamed of becoming a singer."
For her new song, Jeon So-yeon said she drew inspiration from Jewelry's track Ni-ga Cham Joha. Her stated goal: "to show the spirit of a playful girl trapped within a pure concept."
No release date for Seo In-young's album has been announced.
