Seo In-young on remarrying a businessman: 'This is my last chance' to appear on a dating show

Remarriage on the horizon, dating-show dreams intact

Seo In-young is planning to remarry later this year. Her partner is a businessman six years her senior, met through a blind date. The singer married in 2023 and divorced a year later.

With the wedding approaching, she is not exactly slowing down on screen. A teaser for her new variety show 서인영의 유행꼰대 — co-starring MZ-generation educator Mimiminu — was uploaded to E채널's official YouTube channel on the 17th. The show premieres October 1.

'Let me go out'

During the teaser, Seo In-young made clear she has her eye on more than one program. Asked about dating shows, she said she had watched 솔로지옥 and 쏘핫. "They went to heaven too and hugged and slept. It looked fun," she said of the former. Of 쏘핫: "They touch bodies and kiss and start."

She admitted she doesn't actually follow the genre closely. "I don't know the programs. Because it's not my love life." But she wants in—at least before the ring is on. "I want to go out on anything right now. Before getting married. This is my last chance. Let me go out."

Asked whether she could kiss a man she liked on a first meeting on such a show, she answered: "Of course."

(The marriage announcement came out faster than she expected—hence the urgency.)

How the relationship started

Seo In-young described the period before meeting her fiancé as difficult. "I had severe depression at one point and spent many days drinking," she said. What changed her mind about this particular man was his composure at their blind date: the way he smiled, held eye contact, and showed up confidently to a gathering that included her friends and family.

She held back at first. "I didn't think about marriage from the beginning. Rather, I held myself back for fear of being hurt again. But gradually I became confident that it would be okay with this person."

Her fiancé had no such hesitation. "My husband said he thought he would get married as soon as he saw me. So I think we had our first kiss too."

Seo In-young previously appeared as a virtual couple with singer Crown J on MBC's 우리 결혼했어요, where the pairing drew wide attention.
